Arrest made in drive-by shooting on MLK

LAFAYETTE, La. - An arrest has been made in a drive-by shooting that took place last week in Lafayette.

On November 5, 2019, at 11:16 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in reference to shots fired from a vehicle, according to police.

Upon arrival officers located a 20-year-old male in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound.

Shaquille Batiste, 25, was arrested Monday afternoon in connection to the shooting.

He is facing attempted first degree murder charges.

Bond has been set at $250,000.
