Vermilionville hosted its annual Courir de Mardi Gras today.
The living history museum and folklife park presents a version of the traditional country Mardi Gras every year that some might describe as a little tamer and more family-friendly than others.
The events included Capuchon crafts for children, so they could make their own costumes, song lessons and king cake demonstrations - traditional and American-style by Patrick Poupart.
The Pine Leaf Boys provided the music.
"I would hope everybody here today has a good time, for one, and takes in a little bit of our culture and carries it with them wherever they go," Joey Cortez, a Sauvage at Vermilionville, said.
