SCOTT, La. – More details have been released into Tuesday's lockdown at Acadiana High School.
During a routine safety check following student drop off at Acadiana High School Tuesday morning, a bus driver reported to the school's administration that four small caliber bullets were found in a seat on the bus, according to a spokesperson for the Lafayette Parish School System. As a precautionary measure, the school was placed on lockdown status while law enforcement conducted an investigation.
The individual responsible was located and a search of the school campus was conducted. No weapons were found. The lockdown was lifted and the school campus resumed
normal operations, the spokesperson stated.
This incident is unrelated to Monday's shelter in place and no threat was directed toward the school campus.
There are serious consequences for bringing prohibited items on any school property, including buses, according to the spokesperson.
