Acadian Ambulance and Our Lady of Lourdes Women's and Children's Hospital are teaming up to put a new childcare ambulance in service.
This new unit is the first of its kind in Acadiana.
The ambulance is designed to care for children involved in serious accidents and to help mothers and premature babies in distress.
"We think this will continue to improve the relationship between Our Lady of Lourdes and Acadian Ambulance, but more importantly it will help save more children and small babies," Acadian Ambulance Ceo Richard Zushlag said.
