Two people are dead and a suspect arrested in connection with a Jennings double stabbing.
Jennings Police says that officers were called to a home on the corner of West Division and Down Streets in reference to a stabbings at around 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
Upon arrival police found a woman, 24-year-old Kristan Thibodeaux in the driveway of the home suffering from a stab wound. Another person, 33-year-old David Authement was found inside the home with stab wounds.
Both were treated at the scene. Police say Authement died at the home, Thibodeaux was taken to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
A person of interest, 35-year-old Kendrick Nixon, was at the scene when police arrived but left shortly after. He was arrested at around 7:30 a.m. near the scene and booked on two counts of first-degree murder and home invasion.
Jennings Police say it is believed that Thibodeaux and Nixon went to Authement's residence to ask about missing money. During an alleged altercation, Nixon is said to have stabbed both Authement and Thibodeaux.
Police say it is unclear if Thibodeaux was stabbed intentionally.
