The Town of Welsh is turning on the electricity for residents.

In a message on Facebook, The Welsh Police Department asks that residents not touch any power lines as the town begins to put power back on.

Entergy has been in the town repairing electrical outages and as of Wednesday morning, officials said they were ready to send power into Welsh.

According to their Facebook page, Entergy's pole on Hwy 90 has been repaired and the town was working with them to power up their substation.

After powering up the substation, the town began turning on power to sections of town.

Welsh Police say they will give updates on when they start energizing certain sections. Those can be found here.
