JEFF DAVIS PARISH — A woman is dead after Troopers say she was struck and killed while walking on a frontage road near the community of Roanoke last night.
Louisiana State Police say that the responded on July 16, 2020, just after at 10:30 p.m., to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on the I-10 South Frontage Road near Farm Supply Road. According to Troopers, an investigation revealed 32-year-old Kendra Sasha Johnson of Roanoke was walking in the eastbound lane of travel on the frontage road when she was struck by a car.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
Routine toxicology samples were obtained for analysis.
The crash remains under investigation.
Troopers say that at the time of the crash, Johnson was wearing dark-colored clothing.
