JEFF DAVIS — The names for a brand new elementary school in Jennings have been narrowed down to three.
The Jeff Davis Parish School System has selected the names based on nominations from the public.
Those names are as follows:
- James Ward Elementary
- Jennings Elementary
- Jennings-Ward Elementary
A public meeting will be held Tuesday October 22 to discuss the names optioned by those voters. After public consideration, the recommended name will be brought to the full school board on November 21 for a vote.
In March, voters approved the new elementary school through a extension of a half-cent sales tax. The school will hold students from grades pre-K through sixth.
