JENNINGS, La. - A juvenile was arrested for allegedly setting toilet paper on fire at Jennings Elementary.
The Jennings Fire Department responded to the fire Wednesday around 2:15 pm.
"We did have a very small contained fire in a boy's restroom and thankfully all safety protocols worked well and it was extinguished immediately," said Kirk Credeur, Superintendent of Schools. "The fire marshal is conducting an aggressive investigation at this time and has been presented all evidence that he needs to successfully come to an investigative conclusion."
A spokesperson with the State Fire Marshal's office stated that a toilet paper dispenser was set on fire and no damage was reported to the ceiling, walls, or floors.
The student was arrested on one count of aggravated arson.
The juvenile was cited and released to a guardian.
