A Jennings woman is accused of burglarizing an elderly woman's home and stealing her personal information along with debit and credit cards.
Police say Samantha Lopez was arrested after an investigation by officers into numerous thefts and burglaries at the woman's home on Granger Street.
According to the department, Lopez allegedly stole the victim's purse along with debit cards, credit cards and personal information. In another instance, police say wires to the woman's security system were cut and forced entry was made into her residence.
Lopez was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Simple Burglary, Attempted Simple Burglary, Identity Theft, Tampering with a Surveillance System, Obstruction of Justice, and Felony Theft.
Police say evidence was gathered that allegedly links Lopez to two separate vehicle burglaries and the theft of a motor vehicle.
The investigation remains ongoing and more charges are pending.
