Jennings Rotary Club hosts food distribution

Posted
and last updated

With the help of God's Pantry, the Rotary Club of Jennings is making sure that people in their community are taken care of.

Volunteers tell us they've been feeding 2,000 families twice a month. Thursday's distribution took place at the Jefferson Davis Council on Aging.

The group welcomes donations at their location on Highway 26, but you must call ahead to make an appointment.

The distributions are one way the Rotary Club is caring for the elderly in the area.

"Our elderly need to be taken care of, not medically, but nutrition-wise, and also the socialization," explained secretary Cynthia Hoffpauir. "They can come into the counseling agency for many activities, and at that time speaking with staff here, they can find out if they're in need."
