Effective Tuesday, April 7, 2020 the Jeff Davis Parish curfew will change to 9:00 pm thru 5:00 am, and remain in effect until further notice.
As previously stated, the Parish wide curfew excludes persons traveling to or from work for essential workers or an emergency, the sheriff says.
"Following the suggestions of the CDC, the COVID-19 task force and the Governor's directives, we want to remind people to Stay at Home, continue to perform social distancing practices, and do not gather in groups. Also if you are out in public during daytime hours for essential trips to the pharmacy, grocery stores or gas stations you should wear a cloth mask for the safety of others," the sheriff says.
"According to the CDC and medical experts, the next two weeks will be crucial to attempt to lower the number of affected persons and the number of persons that need hospital care. Please follow the practices, wash your hands, social distancing, do not gather in groups and STAY HOME," the sheriff says.
