JEFFERSON DAVIS PARISH, La. - After years of construction, the Jeff Davis Parish Regional Consolidated Jail is set to open.
A ribbon cutting and grand opening will be held for the $9.4 million facility Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Construction on the 31,000-square-foot facility began in June of 2016. A number of weather delays caused construction to last longer than predicted.
The new facility will house 200 male and female inmates.
