The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office says the escaped inmate Duane Lemaire is back in custody
JDPSO says Lemaire contacted the sheriff’s office and advised he was at a local church in Jennings and wanted to turn himself in. Lemaire walked off of a work detail Sunday evening, where he was assigned
Deputies located Lemaire and took him into custody.
Lemaire was charged with simple escape and booked into the parish jail with no bond. He was previously incarcerated on a probation violation.
