An Elton man was arrested on Friday after he allegedly doused his girlfriend and house in gasoline and threatened to burn them.
50-year-old Thomas Henry Buxton was arrested and booked on a charge of attempted aggravated arson.
Deputies began investigating after a complaint was made on March 6 at a residence on Third Street.
Upon arrival, deputies say Buxton was found outside of the residence which reportedly smelled of gasoline.
While investigating, deputies say Buxton's girlfriend allegedly returned and reported that he had poured gasoline on her and threatened to burn her if she didn't leave.
Buxton was arrested and booked into the Jeff Davis Parish Jail.
No bond has been set.
