Several races were decided in Jeff Davis Parish.
In School Board District 11, Paul Trahan won with 57.52 percent or 616 votes, compared to Phillip Andrepont with 42.48 percent or 455 votes.
In the Town of Welsh, Karl Arceneaux was elected Mayor, with 71 percent or 1,058 votes compared to Charles Drake with 29 percent or 434 votes. Marcus Crochet was elected Chief of Police with 68.32% or 1,007 votes, compared to Marcus "Cummings" Prudhomme, who got 31.68% or 467 votes.
In the Village of Fenton, Eddie Alfred was elected Mayor with 73 percent or 117 votes, compared to Shawanda Sowells with 27 percent or 44 votes. Sam Alfred was elected Chief of Police, with 84 percent or 131 votes, compared to Trevor Talbert with 16 percent or 25 votes.
In the town of Elton, a close race for council member ended with Forest Ardoin receiving 215 votes and Michael Bellon receiving 213 votes.
The parish approved sports betting, 56 to 44 percent
