UPDATE: New Iberia Police have identified the suspect wanted in an armed robbery that occurred on Monday.
With the public's assistance, detectives identified the suspect as 29-year-old Marvin Gabriel. Arrest warrants have been obtained for Gabriel on charges of Armed Robbery, Illegal Carrying of Weapons, and four counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
Police say the incident occurred Monday, June 29 at a business in the 600 block of West Admiral Doyle Drive.
Officers say the suspect entered the business and threatened those inside while armed with a firearm.
The man stole several items before fleeing the store in what police are describing as a gray Nissan Versa.
The suspect was captured on video surveillance, and the police department shared several images of the suspect and the vehicle to their Facebook page Tuesday morning.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gabriel is asked to contact Iberia Crime Stoppers at 364-TIPS or submit a tip using the P3TIPS website.
Individuals with information may also contact the New Iberia Police Department at (337) 369-2306. All tips will remain anonymous.
