UPDATE: One person died and two others were shot in New Iberia today.
Police do not believe the shootings were related.
This evening in the 500 block of Johnston Street, one man died and another is being treated for injuries in a shooting that happened at about 7 p.m., police say. The men were brothers, police say.

Earlier, we reported that New Iberia Police were investigating another shooting that happened today.
Police were called to a shooting in the 1500 block of Rogers Street at about 4:30 p.m. They found one man had been shot. The shooting happened outside a residence, police say.
The victim has been transported to an area hospital, but his condition is not known at this time, police say.
