UPDATE: Two arrested in fatal New Iberia shooting

UPDATE: Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives have made two arrests in connection with the Saturday night homicide on Cotton Street.

Detectives arrested 23-year-old Tyler Bourque and 50-year-old Ronald Bourque. Both have been booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on charges of Attempted Robbery and First Degree Murder.

Detectives believe this was an botched robbery attempt. More arrest are anticipated.

ORIGINAL STORY:

One man is dead following a Saturday night shooting on Cotton Street in Iberia Parish.

Shortly before 10:00 pm deputies were called to a home in the 100 block of Cotton St. after a man was shot.

Deputies found a 26-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital but did not survive. The victim’s identity will be released by the Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office at 369-3711 or Iberia Crime Stoppers at 364-TIPS.
