New Iberia's 31st annual World Championship Gumbo CookOff will be held in-person this year.
The Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce announced February 2 that the return of the competition is scheduled for October 9th and 10th.
The weekend cookoff will return to Bouligny Plaza in New Iberia and welcome gumbo lovers with live music and bowls of gumbo.
Chamber officials say that more inforamtion like the theme and band lineup will be released later this year.
In 2020, an online merchandise shop and Virtual Live Cooking demonstrations were added due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Those additions, they say, will continue as a part of the 2021 competition.
