and last updated

Across the state, some students are already back in school while others are preparing to head back.

And this year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, masks will be required for students in grades 3 through 12.

But for those who are unable to obtain them on their own, several groups and individuals in Iberia Parish want to help out.

Ms. Robby Bethel has organized some helpful ladies who live on the west end of town to sew close to 500 masks for students.

And other groups have donated disposable masks to the Parks and Rec department. These will be handed out to students in a drive through Saturday, August 15, at West End Park along with other school supplies.

For more information call the New Iberia Parks Department at 337-369-2300.
