The Iberia Parish School Board voted down a proposal Wednesday night that would have allowed teachers to wear scrubs in the classroom this year.
Administrators were opposed to it, and some board members were worried some students would think their teachers were nurses.
Supporters felt the scrubs would help teachers perform extra duties put in place amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
