Community organization holding mask drive for Iberia Parish students, staff

and last updated

An Iberia Parish organization is working to help out the younger members of the community as they prepare to head back to school this fall.

Adults and students third grade and up must wear face coverings/masks during school, according to guidelines from the Louisiana Department of Education.
To help out, Iberia Industrial Development Foundation is holding a mask drive for students, faculty, and staff. The community organization is asking for residents to donate either pre-made, reusable masks (homemade or purchased) OR a monetary contribution, 100% of which will go towards purchasing face coverings.

Masks must follow the same uniform policy set forth by the school board - no wording, emblems, or insignia that promote profanity, political messages, obscenity, etc.

Donations can be dropped off at IDF's office at 101 Burke St. in New Iberia between 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. or they can come to you. Donations should be in a sealed bag or box.

DJW Insurance Agency is helping out in the drive - masks can be donated at their office as well, located at 105 W. Main St. in New Iberia. To have them come to you, contact Kim Clay at 337-364-7614.
