New Iberia Police are questioning a mother this evening after her three-year-old was found in a hot car this afternoon.
New Iberia Police say they were called to the scene by someone who saw that the child was in a car in the parking lot of the Office Depot.
Capt. John Babin said the child is three years old. He did not have details on the child's condition, but said the child was transported to the local hospital to be checked out.
The child's mother was in the store and came out while the officer was there, Babin said. The mother is now at the police department being questioned, he said.
Charges are pending, Babin said.
