Officials say the water main break in the city of Ville Platte has been repaired and water service has been restored to all residents.
While water service has been restored, the city is under a boil water advisory until further notice. Officials will inform residents when the boil water advisory is lifted.
Residents are advised to boil water for a full minute before consuming.
Vidrine said that water pressure may be low since so many people are attempting to use the water at the same time.
Vidrine thanked residents for their patience and also thanked city workers for their hard work in getting water restored.
Crews worked throughout the evening to restore water after an eight-inch water line broke on N. Latour Street.
