Ville Platte Police warn of gasoline bandits

Ville Platte Police Chief Neil Lartigue is warning local business owners about recent gas thefts.

"We have received multiple reports of gasoline thefts from vehicles that remain parked at business properties. Vehicles left over night and unattended are being targeted. The suspect(s) have drilled or punctured holes in the gas tank under each vehicle and the gasoline is then drained and stolen," a release states.

The incidents reported so far were at businesses on East Lincoln Rd, West LaSalle Street and East Main Street.

Any suspicious activity or video surveillance of suspicious activity should be reported to police. If anyone has information about these incidents, please call 363-1313.
