Ville Platte Police say they are seeking more information following an early morning shooting that injured one person on Sunday.
Police Chief Neal Lartigue says that on September 22, 2019 at around 2:45 a.m. officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a report of shots fired on Anita Street. Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office also responded to the incident to assist.
Upon arrival law enforcement says they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center and later transported to New Orleans for treatment. Lartigue says a person of interest in the incident has been developed but the investigation is ongoing.
