Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue today reports multiple arrests made in connection with a string of burglaries between January and the end of March.
The break in the cases came in mid-March, when a patrol officer stopped a vehicle that had several juveniles and a bag of burglary tools inside. This stop led to information and evidence to a string of break-ins and burglaries, the chief says.
Detectives have been working endless hours in a three month investigation into burglaries of businesses and residences in the city of Ville Platte. Those efforts have resulted in multiple arrests of adults and juveniles, the chief says.
Almost 30 cases have been closed now, the chief says, including these:

There was also a residential burglary that occurred on East Washington Street at the end of November 2019 that was solved as part of this investigation.
Juvenile arrests were:
A 16-year-old boy, booked with curfew violation, possession of burglary tools, illegal possession of stolen firearm, illegal possession of firearm by a juvenile, 3 counts of burglary, 3 counts of criminal damage to property and multiple counts of theft.
A 15-year-old boy, booked with curfew violation and possession of burglary tools
A 16-year-old boy, booked with curfew violation and possession of burglary tools.

Two adults also were arrested:
Dakollian Deville, 20, of Ville Platte, booked with 9 counts of burglary, 1 count of burglary of a pharmacy, 10 counts of criminal damage to property and 5 counts of theft. The charges stem from multiple cases and the bonds combined equal $580,000.00.
Vontrevis Thomas, 23 of Ville Platte, booked with 2 counts of Burglary, 2 counts of criminal damage to property and 2 counts of theft. The charges stem from multiple cases and the bonds combined equal $ 120,000.00
More Adult and juvenile arrests are pending.
“We are following other leads and information to make more arrests and solve other reported cases," the chief said.
