Ville Platte man accused of shooting brother arrested in Bunkie

A Ville Platte man has been arrested, accused of shooting his brother on Edward Knoto Street.

Police Chief Neal Lartigue says that on July 24 officers received a call of shots fired at a local store in the 700 block of Edward Knoto Street.

Upon arrival officers say they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Ville Platte Police say the wounded man was allegedly shot by his brother. He was transported to a hospital in the Lafayette area.

An arrest warrant was secured for Ahmed Ali of Ville Platte on Attempted Second degree Murder. Ali was located and taken into custody in Bunkie by the Bunkie Police Department, Avoyelles Parish Sherriff's Office and U.S. Marshals.
