The Mayor of Ville Platte has announced that the city-wide curfew for adults and businesses put into place due to COVID-19 has been lifted.
A city-wide curfew still remains in effect for minors.
Mayor Vidrine says in a Facebook post that residents 17-years-old and younger will remain under curfew on Sunday-Thursday from 10pm-5am and on Friday-Saturday from midnight-5am.
The city-wide curfew for minors, adults and businesses was put into place until further notice on March 30.
At the time, Mayor Vidrine said that the curfew was for the protection and health of citizens due to the rise in COVID-19 cases.
Gatherings were limited to 10 people or less and citizens were asked to follow all state guidelines.
Health care workers were exempt from the curfew.
