MAMOU, La. — Two children were shot while playing with a gun they found in a relative's car. The relative is a Mamou Police officer who was off-duty at the time, Mamou Police tell KATC.
A 12-year-old was shot in the hand, and a nine-year-old was shot in the arm, police say. The younger boy's leg was also grazed by a bullet.
One child was airlifted to a hospital in New Orleans police say.
The weapon was in the vehicle, and the boys found it and were playing with the gun, police say.
