Residents in Ville Platte say they are tired of being forgotten about and so they took to the streets to clean up the community.
The group was out picking up trash and doing yard work. They say they just started on Monday with Young Street and will be moving forward to other locations in the City of Ville Platte including Martin Luther King on Wednesday.
"I want to give back to the little ones who will come after me," Tempelton Guillory a resident working on the project said.
The group says they were tired of living in the filth that they saw around the city. They say they want their voices to be heard and to take their community back by making where they live beautiful.
They are asking that if anyone has donations of yard work equipment and food, they are welcomed to donate.
The residents say that they will continue as long as they need to.
