On Friday, September 11, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office traveled to Lake Charles to deliver much needed hurricane supplies.
The donations were collected from the community during the previous week to fill a 16-foot U-haul truck.
The department met with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office and were escorted to the Saint Henry Catholic Church Distribution Center where donations were desperately needed.
The Church shared their thanks for the community's donations in a Facebook post.
"Many thanks to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office and trustees for collecting and delivering a Uhaul full of supplies to St. Henry's distribution site today," the post reads.
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office thanks all those who made donations to the week-long supply drive.
"We appreciate your generosity and support," they said.
