Evangeline Parish opts-in to reopen bars

Evangeline Parish has opted-in to reopen bars starting on Thursday.

Evangeline Parish Police Juror Bryan Vidrine confirmed with KATC that Evangeline Parish is opting in to reopening bars. The parish has had two consecutive weeks at or below 5 percent positivity rates. LDH shows a positivity at 5 percent for the week of September 10, 2020 followed by a decrease to 3.4 percent as of the week of September 17, 2020.

The Parish President decided to sign the declaration with the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control.

Bars, according to Vidrine, can begin reopening starting Thursday night.
