A pursuit that began in Evangeline Parish on Wednesday ended with the recovery of a stolen vehicle from Lafayette.
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office says that the vehicle was observed around 7:35 pm on July 29 on the side of LA 29 with its hazard lights on.
Upon making contact, the vehicle was determined to be reported stolen out of Lafayette.
According to the sheriff's office, a vehicle pursuit then took place into Chataigner and then into St. Landry Parish before ending with the stolen vehicle in a ditch on LA 103 and McGuffy Road.
The driver, identified as David Wayne Guillory of Lafayette, exited the vehicle and lead the responding officer on a foot chase.
Guillory was apprehended and treated by St. Landry EMS before being taken to the St. Landry Parish Jail.
An arrest warrant for Guillory was submitted by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office on the following charges:
- 1 count Aggravated Flight from an Officer and
- 1 count Illegal Possession of stolen things.
Guillory's bond has been set at $60,000.
No officers were injured in the pursuit.
