The Boy Scouts of American Evangeline Area Council have announced a virtual campfire experience for all Acadiana families who are currently sheltering in place due to COVID-19.
According to a release from the Boy Scots, the YouTube link to the campfire will be released on the Evangeline Area Council’s Acadiana Campfire website at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 23.
The campfire is free to all and does not require anyone to provide contact information.
In order for families to participate, they can simply visit www.EACBSA.org/AcdianaCampfire at or after 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 23 for the YouTube Campfire link.
The Boy Scouts also state that this will give scouts a chance to earn an Acadiana Campfire Adventure Patch.
Families who watch the Acadiana Campfire program can earn their Adventure Badge by completing a few family pre/post campfire activities found on the www.eacbsa.org/AcadianaCampfire webpage, the release states. Suggested activities include: cooking tinfoil dinners, telling traditional Cajun stories, playing games and sleeping in a homemade blanket fort.
