Because of a main line break, parts of the East Side Water System in Ville Platte are under a boil order.
Included in the boil order are 4J Road, LaChance Road and Foret Lane. Those areas are under a boil order until further notice, a release states.
Residents and businesses must boil all water to be consumed, including the water to make fountain drinks and ice, brushing teeth or for food preparation of any kind.
The water must be boiled for one full minute in a clean container. Start timing after the water comes to a rolling boil.
As soon as the water is determined safe to drink, the system will make an announcement.
