Eunice voters have approved a one-quarter percent tax that will fund pay raises for city police officers and firefighters. The tax will begin July 1, 2019, and is expected to raise $640,000.

Shall the City of Eunice, State of Louisiana (the “City”), be authorized to levy and collect an additional one-quarter percent tax (.25%) (the “Tax”) upon the sale at retail, use, lease or rental, consumption, and storage for use or consumption of tangible personal property, and on sales of services in the City, all as defined by law, ($640,000 expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the Tax for an entire year) beginning July 1, 2019, and to run in perpetuity, with the proceeds of the Tax (after paying the reasonable and necessary costs and expenses of collecting and administering the Tax) to be dedicated and used to fund public safety salaries and related compensation?

Voters in Acadia Parish renewed a millage that will go toward maintenance, construction, improvement of drainage works, and equipment in the First Ward Drainage District.

Shall First Ward Drainage District of the Parish of Acadia, State of Louisiana (the “District”), levy a special tax of eight (8) mills on all the property subject to taxation within the District (an estimated $416,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2021 and ending with the year 2030, for the purpose of the maintenance, construction and improvement of drainage works within and for the District, including the acquisition of equipment therefor?
