The Secretary of State’s Office is reminding voters that the deadline to register to vote in the March 30 Municipal Primary Election is approaching.
The deadline to register by mail is Wednesday, February 27 and online is Saturday, March 9. The deadlines are specifically for citizens who have never registered to vote or those who would like to make changes to their registration.
Registration can be done online at the Secretary of State’s website or at a local parish Registrar of Voters Office.
New registrants can also download the GeauxVote Mobile app for information on registration, voting districts, sample ballots, polling places, and election results.
Early voting for the Municipal Primary Election is Saturday, March 16 through Saturday, March 23 excluding Sunday, March 17, from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.
In Acadiana, Jeanerette residents will head to the polls to vote on several city seats. Those seats include Mayor, Alderman at Large, and Alderman for Wards 1- 4.
