As of 11 p.m., the votes were still not in for St. Mary Parish – one of only two parishes in the state with no complete results posted.

With only 27 of 51 precincts reporting, and 100 percent of early votes counted, here’s a status:

In the Sheriff’s race, Sheriff Scott Anslum is leading with 39 percent of the vote, followed by challenger Blaise Smith, with 29 percent of the vote. Frank “Boo” Grizzaffi has 17 percent of the vote, followed by Lonnie LaBouve with 9 percent and Carl Thornton with 7 percent.

Two tax proposals on the ballot for renewal seem destined to prevail: Fire Protection District 3’s 10-mill property tax was winning renewal at 57 percent to 43 percent, and the Gravity Drainage District 2 5-mill property tax was winning renewal, 67 percent to 33 percent.
