An election will be held on Saturday in several Acadiana pairshes.

Nearly all voters will be casting their votes for millage proposals and tax renewals. In Evangeline Parish, voters in Ville Platte will select a City Marshal.

Below are the ballots by parish, click here for sample ballots from the secretary of state's website.

Polls open on Saturday Aug. 15, starting at 7 a.m.

Acadia Parish

Acadia-St. Landry Hospital Service District Proposition (In-Lieu Millage)
Shall Acadia-St. Landry Hospital Service District of the Parishes of Acadia and St. Landry, State of Louisiana (the "District") levy and collect a special ad valorem tax of ten (10) mills on all the property subject to taxation in the District (an estimated $375,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year) for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2020 and ending with the year 2029, for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, improving, equipping, maintaining and/or operating new and existing hospital, health care and related facilities of the District and recruiting physicians and other health care professionals therefore, said tax to be in lieu of and replace an ad valorem tax authorized at an election held in said District on November 19, 2011 to be levied in the District through the year 2022 and currently being levied at a rate of 7.64 mills?

Village of Estherwood Proposition
Shall the Village of Estherwood, State of Louisiana (the "Town"), sell its natural gas distribution utility system and grant franchise to operate same to CenterPoint Energy Resources Corp., d/b/a CenterPoint Energy Entex and CenterPoint Energy Louisiana Gas, as per written proposal of date January 9, 2020 on file in the office of the Clerk of said Town?

Fourth Ward Drainage District No. 1 Proposition (Millage Renewal)
Shall the Fourth Ward Drainage District No. 1 of the Parish of Acadia, State of Louisiana (the "District"), be authorized to continue to levy and collect a tax of six and thirty-two hundredths (6.32) mills on all property subject to taxation situated in said District (an estimated $51,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2021 and ending with the year 2030, for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, maintaining and operating gravity drainage works within and for the said District?

Fire Protection District No. 1 Proposition (Tax Renewal)
Shall Fire Protection District No. 1 of the Parish of Iberia, State of Louisiana (the "District"), levy an eight and fifty-two hundredths (8.52) mills tax on all the property subject to taxation within the District (an estimated $3,500,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2021 and ending with the year 2030, for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, improving, maintaining and operating fire protection facilities and equipment, including the cost of obtaining water for fire protection purposes, and all purposes incidental thereto?

Law Enforcement District Proposition (Tax Renewal)
Shall the Law Enforcement District of the Parish of Jefferson Davis, State of Louisiana (the "District"), be authorized to continue to levy a tax of five and ninety-five hundredths (5.95) mills on all property subject to taxation within the District (an estimated $1,400,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the Tax for an entire year) for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2021 and ending with the year 2030, for the purpose of providing additional funding for the District?

Shall Road District No. 2 of Ward 1 of the Parish of St. Landry, State of Louisiana (the "District"), levy a special tax of ten (10) mills on all property subject to taxation in the District (an estimated $306,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year) for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2020 and ending with the year 2029, for the purpose of constructing, improving, maintaining and operating public roads and bridges within the District, including the purchase of equipment therefor, and shall the proceeds from the levy of this tax be used to pay for the cost of holding the special election?

Gravity Drainage District No. 1 of Ward 2 Proposition (Millage Renewal)
Shall Gravity Drainage District No. 1 of Ward 2 of the Parish of St. Landry, State of Louisiana (the "District"), be authorized to continue to levy a special tax of eight and fifty hundredths (8.50) mills on all the property subject to taxation in the District (an estimated $312,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2021 and ending with the year 2030, for the purpose of improving, constructing, maintaining and/or operating gravity drainage works within and for said District?

South St. Landry Community Library District Proposition (Tax Renewal)
Shall South St. Landry Community Library District, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana (the "District"), be authorized to continue to levy a special tax of five and seventy-five hundredths (5.75) mills on all property subject to taxation in the District (an estimated $295,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2022 and ending with the year 2031, for the purpose of improving, maintaining and operating the South St. Landry Community Library and acquiring the necessary equipment therefor?

Fire Protection District No. 7 Proposition (Millage Extension & Rededication)
Shall Fire Protection District No. 7 of the Parish of St. Landry, State of Louisiana (the "District"), be authorized to continue to levy a special tax of ten (10) mills (the "Tax") on all property subject to taxation within the District (an estimated $92,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for an additional ten (10) years, ending with the year 2031, and shall the District be further authorized to rededicate the use of proceeds of the Tax, heretofore or hereafter received, solely for the purposes of acquiring, constructing, maintaining and/or operating facilities and equipment for providing fire protection and emergency medical services in and for the District, including the costs of obtaining water for fire protection purposes?

St. Martin Parish

Sub-Road District No. 1 of Road District No. 1 Proposition (Millage Continuation)
Shall Sub-Road District No. 1 of Road District No. 1 of the Parish of St. Martin, State of Louisiana (the "District"), continue to levy a six and forty-six hundredths (6.46) mills tax on all the property subject to taxation within the District (an estimated $160,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2020 and ending with the year 2029, for the purpose of improving and maintaining Parish roads in said District?

St. Mary Parish

Library Proposition (Tax Renewal)
Shall the Parish of St. Mary, State of Louisiana (the "Parish"), continue to levy a special tax of five and seventy-two hundredths (5.72) mills on all of the property subject to taxation within said Parish, excluding the City of Morgan City, La. (an estimated $2,718,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the Tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2021 and ending with the year 2030, for the purpose of the support, maintenance, operation and improvement of the St. Mary Parish Library and its branches?

City of Morgan City Proposition (Millage Continuation)
Shall the City of Morgan City, State of Louisiana (the "City"), be authorized to continue to levy a two (2) mills tax on all the property subject to taxation in the City (an estimated $786,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2020 and ending with the year 2029, for the purpose of improving, maintaining and operating the City auditorium, including the purchase of equipment and furnishings therefor, title to which shall be in public?

Town of Berwick Proposition (Millage Renewal)
Shall the Town of Berwick, State of Louisiana (the "Town"), continue to levy and collect a special tax of six (6) mills on all property subject to taxation in the Town (an estimated $180,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of twenty (20) years, beginning with the year 2022 and ending with the year 2041, for the purpose of acquiring and maintaining recreation improvements, programs and facilities; acquiring and maintaining streets, roads, highways, alleys, servitudes and rights of ways; constructing, acquiring, extending, improving and maintaining any public works or capital improvements, including but not limited to, recreational facilities, public safety and police facilities, fire protection facilities, town hall facilities, sewerage collection and disposal facilities, waterworks, water and flood control extensions and improvements, public health facilities, streets, roads, sidewalks and bridges, and cemetery facilities in the Town?

Water and Sewer Commission No. 1 Proposition (Millage Continuation)
Shall St. Mary Parish Water and Sewer Commission No. 1, State of Louisiana (the "Commission"), be authorized to continue to levy a tax of nine and ninety-nine hundredths (9.99) mills on all property subject to taxation within the jurisdiction and boundaries of the Commission (an estimated $825,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2021 and ending with the year 2030, for the purpose of constructing and acquiring improvements and extensions to the waterworks systems and sewerage systems and related facilities of the Commission and operating and maintaining said systems, a work of public improvement for the Commission, said millage to represent a one hundredths of a mill (.01) increase (due to reappraisal) over the 9.98 mills tax authorized to be levied through the year 2020 pursuant to an election held on May 1, 2010?

Vermilion Parish

Hospital Service District No. 1 Proposition (Sales & Use Tax Renewal)
Shall Hospital Service District No. 1 of the Parish of Vermilion, State of Louisiana (the "District"), be authorized to continue to levy and collect and adopt an ordinance providing for such levy and collection, a tax of one percent (1%) (the "Tax") (an estimated $1,326,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year) upon the sale at retail, the use, the lease or rental, the consumption, and the storage for use or consumption, of tangible personal property and on sales of services in the District, all as defined by law, for a period of ten (10) years from April 1, 2021, with the proceeds of the Tax (after paying the reasonable and necessary expenses of collecting and administering the Tax), to be dedicated and used for the purpose of paying costs associated with operating, maintaining and improving those facilities of the Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital related to providing emergency medical services?
