Deputies searching for driver involved in Lake Charles hit and run

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is searching for the driver involved in a Tuesday hit and run in Lake Charles.

Deputies say the incident took place on April 14 at approximately 1:30 a.m. on East Savanna Lane.

According to the department, an initial investigation revealed the vehicle went off the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a palm tree along with a street sign.

Surveillance video provided by deputies show the moment the vehicle struck the tree and sign.

The vehicle is described as a newer model Ford Flex, white in color, with damage to the area near the front bumper.

Anyone who can identify the SUV or with information about this case is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 491-3605 and reference complaint number 20-48456.
