UPDATE:
DOTD has confirmed that the eastbound side of the Interstate 10 bridge in Lake Charles has reopened to traffic.
ORIGINAL STORY:
As of Tuesday morning, the eastbound side of the Interstate 10 bridge over the Calcasieu River is closed.
State DOTD officials say both lanes of the east side of the bridge are closed, effective immediately, for emergency repairs.
"The closure will remain in place until further notice. DOTD will issue an update once the closure is lifted," a release states.
The westbound lanes are not affected and are open for travel.
