Face-to-Face Classes
Four New Orleans universities will suspend face-to-face classes for the rest of the spring semester and will conduct all coursework online.
The suspension of face-to-face classes is in an effort to slow the transmission the coronavirus. UNO, Loyola, Tulane, and Dillard Universities all announced on Wednesday the transition to online coursework.

Festivals and Events
Coachella
Coachellahas officially been postponed until October due to coronavirus fears. The festival, which was slated to be held during two weekends in April, attracts thousands from across the world.
Houston Livestock and Rodeo
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, which draws hundreds of thousands of visitors, will be canceled about halfway through its run as a precaution against the new coronavirus, city and county officials said Wednesday.
Nursing homes and hospitals

The Louisiana Nursing Home Associationis preventing the Coronavirus from entering nursing homes in Louisiana by asking the public not to visit nursing facilities.
Hospitals
The Louisiana Department of Health is requiring all licensed healthcare facilities in the state to restrict certain visitors in response to COVID-19 in the state.
Travel
Travel Ban
President Donald Trump announced that the United States will issue a travel restriction between the US and Europe beginning Friday due to the spread of coronavirus.
Cruise travel
U.S. citizens, particularly travelers with underlying health conditions, should not trave lby cruise ship.
National Sports
MLB Regular Season
Major League Baseballhas suspended operations amid the coronavirus pandemic.
SEC Athletic Events
The Southeastern Conference announced the suspension of regular season competition for teams in all sports on SEC campuses, as well SEC championship events, indefinitely.
NBA Season
The NBA has confirmed its season has been suspendedafter a player has tested positive on Wednesday for coronavirus.
Sun Belt Conference
The Sun Belt Conference has canceled remaining games of the 2020 Sun Belt Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships

Among the conferences that announced tournamenot cancellations are the American Athletic Conference, the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Big Ten, the Big 12, Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Pac-12 Conference, the Southeastern Conference, the Southland Conference and the Western Athletic Conference.
