Longtime Baton Rouge television personality Donna Britt died Thursday morning, our media partners at The Advocate report.

She was 62.

Britt's husband, The Advocate’s Capitol Bureau Chief Mark Ballard, told the newspaper that she died at home surrounded by her family.

Britt was an on-air personality at WAFB-TV from 1981 until retiring in 2018 after an 11-month battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) stole her ability to deliver the news.
