A Louisiana-based restaurant is bringing back the flavors of Mardi Gras in a festive, one-of-a-kind burger.

The Mardi Gras Mambo Burger has returned to all six locations of Burgersmith in Louisiana.

The restaurant says it's a way to keep the spirit of the carnival season alive after this year's parades were cancelled due to the pandemic.

"I think we're all missing our Mardi Gras traditions this year, so we wanted a safe way for customers to keep the celebration going," said Russ Umbricht, Vice President of Operations. "That's why we're excited to bring back the Mardi Gras Mambo Burger."

The king cake burger is made in collaboration with Calandro's Supermarket in Baton Rouge. It's the second year Burgersmith has offered the festive mashup.

The burger was created by Jay Ducote and Charles "Chuck P" Pierce, co-hosts of the "Jay Ducote Show" on Talk 107.3 in Baton Rouge.

"It's no secret that I love bold flavors, so combining two of our favorites (king cake and burgers) was a no-brainer," said Jay Ducote. "The result was even better than we anticipated! It's part tradition, part nostalgia and a whole lot of deliciousness-after all, isn't that what Mardi Gras is all about?"

Diners can get the Mardi Gras Mambo Burger for dine-in or take -out at all six Burgersmith locations from February 1 through February 16.
