Essence Festival of Culture has been postponed, organizers and New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced Friday night.
The festival was originally scheduled for July 1-5.
Organizers are working on securing alternate dates and hope to reschedule the festival for this fall.
"As always, we appreciate your support and look forward to being together again soon," read a statement.
