Drowning leading cause of death for Louisiana toddlers

Accidental drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 4 in the U.S. It’s a surprising statistic for any parent who has worried about other dangers that seem more threatening, like traffic accidents or guns.

But in Louisiana, that rate is more than double the national figure, our media partners at The Advocate/Nola.com report.
