For some, Tuesday was just a normal day full of routine tasks. But for others, specifically the young patients in Baton Rouge's Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, Tuesday was a special day.

Coach Ed Orgeron, his wife Kelly, and a few LSU cheerleaders and football players spent Tuesday afternoon handing out Baskets of Hope, reports WBRZ. The baskets, full of toys, games, and treats, are meant to help put a smile on the kids' faces.

It's something Coach O says brings him a lot of joy.

"Seeing the football players, seeing Kelly, seeing the head coach at LSU, I think it gives them some encouragement to keep on battling the fight," said Orgeron.

Parents say they're also thankful for the gesture.

Maurice Davis' daughter Malaysia is a patient at OLOL, and says, "Just to have them come and support my baby, it's a blessing. I sure appreciate them a lot."
