An artist from the Ark-La-Tex made his debut this weekend on season 17 of American Idol, KTBS reports.
Tyler Mitchell, 26, of Florien, got an ticket to Hollywood after performing a country song for the judges.

The judges were taken with him; Katy Perry uttered a “holy crap” as soon as he started singing, and Luke Bryan sang harmony with part of his performance of a Vince Gill song.
